Sandon Global….to be precise were founded in 2004. An advanced manufacturer of new and refurbished anilox rolls and sleeves. We supply narrow web and wide web printers worldwide from our specialist UK laser engraving and engineering facility.
Exporting to 53 countries and ISO 9001 accredited, we pride ourselves on innovation. Developing the latest generation in anilox engravings and supplying a range of ancillary products including sleeve covers, ultrasonic cleaning equipment and sleeve storage. Acknowledged by the industry as a leading brand in the flexographic market we have received numerous industry and national awards.
We will arrive at Label Expo with a plethora of topics to update the Brussels delegates including some impressive and eye-catching print samples. Illustrating how we have maintained our reputation for award-winning “Precision Anilox”.
2019 has already seen the roll-out of our new branding. We’ve launched an extensive website with a new secure customer login area containing online quotation and anilox specification forms, and useful industry content contained in our “Innovation Hub.” Plus, a point of reference for all your laser engraved anilox, cylinder and roll requirements.
In addition, we have recently announced the exciting development of a new purpose built facility to be opened in 2020. Only a stones throw from our current site in Runcorn, Cheshire. The new UK Headquarters will provide extra capacity and contain a state-of-the art research and development function (See artists impression). This coupled with our dedicated engineering division located in a new workshop directly opposite will offer our customers and strategic partners a complete anilox solution.
Sandon Global currently employs 70 full time staff with representatives across the world. This new site site is expected to create up to 10 apprentices each year plus 30 skilled jobs over the next five years. Sandon Global CEO John Millington commented on this announcement. “We are extremely proud of the progress made in recent years. The next chapter in the history of our business is an exciting one. With the fantastic support from our strategic partners and our loyal, dedicated workforce we are in a good position to realise our true potential.”
Our stand located in Hall 7 will offer Label Expo delegates the opportunity to discuss specific technical challenges facing narrow-web printers. An interactive display screen will provide a unique medium to explore our various engraving solutions, all designed to overcome common print issues or enhance ink transfer and release properties. Including FluidUV covering both solid and tone work, ®ProjectBLUE our Ultra HD solution (Patent(s) Pending, EP3429863). GMX (Patent(s) Pending, EP3408097) designed to apply special coatings and inks including tactile and HOW offering 4 opacity levels of opaque white whilst maintaining press speed. Taking each in turn our Anilox Technical Team will be on hand to demonstrate the benefits of each engraving summarised below;
“Fluid UV” is a combination engraving covering both solid and tone work on one plate. Also used for HD print as it holds a dot and minimises “pin-holing” and ink “spitting” through improved release characteristics leading to “clean” print. Due to our precision engineering and manufacturing processes we have achieved reduced doctor blade vibration as we produce a smooth cell micro-finish, which in turn extends the lifespan when compared to conventional 60º engravings.
For high opacity whites our “HOW” engraving has been developed in partnership with a plate, ink and tape manufacturer. With the shared aim of delivering a rotary screen quality opaque white for narrow-web application. Conventional thinking has been replaced with an anilox that gives you total control. We can offer 4 different volume levels to suit the text and solid density required whilst maintaining press speed and eliminating costly screen heads.
Our patent pending engraving known as “GMX” has been designed to address the challenges when laying down special and heavy coatings including tactile varnish, adhesive and metallic inks. Its unique and efficient shallow cell design increases coat weights whilst reducing cell blocking when using large coating particles. The samples achieved have to be seen to be believed, including examples of how we have taken this development into the litho arena.
ProjectBLUE® is our HD fixed colour palette solution in conjunction with R3, delivering breathtaking print quality challenging gravure at the same time reducing costs and is ideal for short runs and fast changeovers. Essentially we optimise ink delivery and image consistency by linking superior colour separations, differentiated screening and unique plate patterning. Combined with our specially designed anilox rolls, it produces outstanding, vibrant and consistent print. Again samples will be available for delegates to take away and our Anilox Technical Team will be on hand to answer any questions over a drink and some nibbles.
One of our OEM partners Nilpeter will also be demonstrating our “Fluid” range of Anilox during their daily live demonstrations at Stand 7B35.
In March we received our 6th consecutive European Flexographic Industry Association “Supplier Of The Year” Gold Award. A record we are extremely proud of given it is awarded with direct nominations from the European print community. Proving that we are continually delivering on our promise to supply product quality and exceptional service to our customers. We remain the only anilox manufacturer to win such a series of EFIA awards and also hold a coveted Queens Award for International Trade highlighting our ability to serve over 50 countries located in every continent of the world.
Furthermore we take great pride in celebrating our customers wins in virtually every category of this years EFIA Awards including “Best in Show.” How do we maintain this enviable position in the anilox market? Visit our Label Expo Stand 7E51 between 24th and 27th September to find out.
