Sandon Global named Export Business of the Year at St Helens Borough Business Awards

October 2021

Sandon Global Engraving Technology Ltd has been named Export Business of the Year, sponsored by Brendon International Ltd at the St Helens Borough Business Awards, which took place on 15th October at the Totally Wicked Stadium.

In collaboration with St Helens Chamber and St Helens Borough Council – sponsored by Paramount Digital, and supported by Glass Futures and Torus – the St Helens Borough Business Awards recognise and celebrate the success and accomplishments of businesses and people over the past year.

The Export Business of the Year category recognises businesses that stand out from the crowd on the international stage and demonstrate that they have generated significant and/or sustained increases in their export activity.

Sandon Global Engraving Technology Ltd were praised by the judges for their impressive and speedy reaction to the challenges of Brexit and their methodical and focussed penetration into new markets.

Sandon Global Engraving Technology Ltd will now be entered into the British Chambers of Commerce National Business Awards, with the finals taking place in London in December.

Sandon Global’ Managing Director Richard Millington commented. “I am extremely proud to have received this award, furthermore, given it’s for the 3rd year running it highlights the strength and flexibility of our dedicated and highly skilled team. We are one of many SME’s who have had to adapt to unforeseen and planned changes in the market. Regardless of the political landscape and uncertainty we have spent time researching and challenging our strategies to the point where we have the conviction and skills to build on our ongoing success. Being recognised by the St. Helens Chamber is very humbling but also reassuring that we are on the right path. The next chapter in the history of our business is one that excites, motivates and drives us on.”

Mr. Millington refers to the new 58,000sq.ft. purpose-built factory due to be opened before Christmas. Rumoured to contain plant, equipment, and the R&D capability to launch Sandon Global into the next phase of its growth plan.

Tracy Mawson, Chief Executive at St Helens Chamber, said: “We have been overwhelmed by the volume and calibre of entries to the St Helens Borough Business Awards. After such a tumultuous period for businesses across the Borough, it was heartening to see so much talent on display during this year’s judging process. The judges really did have a difficult job on their hands, but I believe we have found some truly outstanding winners.
